Competition gemstone cutting

Contact us for information, help or guidance on competition cutting, we will be more than happy to help. Steve Smith is the coordinator for the European/Scandinavian International faceting Challenge link from Australian Facetors’ Guild and the United Kingdom Facet Cutters Guild.

The following links have designs to cut for annual and bi-annual competitions. The prerequisite for the AFG International Challenge is two stones judged in competition or assessment that obtain 85% marks or above.

United Kingdom Facet Cutters Guild (UKFCG)

The UKFCG have an Advanced Cutter status/certificate achieved by cutting two stones judged at 85% or above and a Master Cutter status/certificate for three stones of 95% or above, by different judges, must be obtained and pass a written exam of 100 questions (FGA and similarly qualified members are exempt).
